"You don't get to 500 million friends without making a few enemies." That's about as ominous as a tagline can get for a movie about Facebook, but the just-released trailer for "The Social Network" -- which features the movie's co-star, Justin Timberlake, and a cover of Radiohead's "Creep" -- does a fine job of selling the drama.

Video: "The Social Network" Movie Trailer

"The Social Network" tells the story of how Facebook went from a college startup to essentially the only way that old friends keep in touch. Justin Timberlake plays Napster founder-turned-Facebook president Sean Parker, who gives site creator Mark Zuckerberg (played by Jesse Eisenberg), some shrewd financial advice. "A million dollars isn't cool. You know what's cool? A billion dollars," he says.

As Facebook grows in popularity and wealth, Zuckerberg is confronted with life-changing decisions. The trailer finds one of his friends asking, "They're saying we stole the Facebook website, so did we?," alluding to a controversy that remains to this day. Adding to all the tension is a spooky cover of Radiohead's classic song "Creep" by Scala & Kolacny Brothers, a girls choir from Belgium.

"The Social Network" hits theaters on Oct. 10 and was directed by David Fincher, who gained music video notoriety with his visuals for Madonna's "Vogue" and George Michael's "Freedom '90," but whose more recent claim to fame is directing dramas like "Fight Club" and "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button." Will a film about status updates, friend requests and privacy rights be as riveting as those films? Stay tuned.
