With celebrity DJs and a-list producers becoming more and more like the rock stars of old, the documentary "RE:GENERATION" attempts to bring the two even closer together. The most striking combo is perhaps that of dubstep artist Skrillex (Sonny Moore, formerly of the screamo punk outfit From First To Last) and the surviving members of legendary 60s rockers The Doors.

"I like to say this is the first new Doors track of the 21st century," said Doors keyboardist Ray Manzarek.

Despite their obvious stylistic differences , the pairing found a quick studio chemistry, according to Rolling Stone.

The four other pairings are similarly eclectic. Electronic artist Pretty Lights worked a country song with Leann Rimes and Ralph Stanley; The Crystal Method teamed with R&B singer Martha Reeves; DJ Premier produced a song with Nas and the Berklee School of Music Orchestra; and Mark Ronson, Erykah Badu, Trombone Shorty, and members of the Dap Kings brewed a jazz song.

"RE:GENERATION" was co-produced by the Grammys and directed by Amir Bar Lev. Premiering in early 2012, it's slated for a promotional event at the Grammy Museum and an early screening to coincide with Grammy Week.
