"We had auditions recently and have put together a great new band that's really sounding amazing," Band writes in a recent post on the band's TARGET="new">official Web site. "We're spending the next month rehearsing with our new backup band, shooting a video, finishing two new songs for the album and getting ready to launch a worldwide tour."
At the end of March, the Calling will launch a promotional tour of Europe and Japan, before returning to the United States for similar duties. Details of a planned world tour have not yet been announced.
"Our Lives," described by RCA as an inspirational song, will boast a video based on a concept conceived by Band and Kamin. "We were having a hard time finding the right idea to portray the meaning of this song in a video, so we took it to ourselves to create exactly what we want," Band says. The clip will be directed by Liz Friedlander, who will also be behind the lens for Avril Lavigne's upcoming "Don't Tell Me" video.
"Camino Palmero" reached No. 2 on Billboard's Heatseekers chart and No. 36 on The Billboard 200, and has sold 817,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The set featured the hit single "Wherever You Will Go," which reached No. 5 on the Hot 100.
