The nine-year-old San Francisco-based Noise Pop Festival is headed to Chicago for the second time May 9-13. The star-studded lineup is led by the newly reunited New York underground rock legends Television, and will also include performances from Guided By Voices, Yo La Tengo, Autechre, Creeper Lagoon, and the Dismemberment Plan.

Other acts confirmed to appear throught the festival include Wellwater Conspiracy, Couch, Suicide, Cursive, Eleventh Dream Day, Wagon Christ, Jah Wobble, and Jimmy Smith. For more information, visit Noise Pop's official Web site.

This year's San Francisco installment, held late last month, featured performances by Superchunk, Blonde Redhead, Girls Against Boys, Spoon, and the Minus 5, among others. The event was founded in 1993 by Jordan Kurland and Kevin Arnold, fans who wanted to give greater exposure to the music they enjoyed.
