The first nine dates for the inaugural Tattoo The Earth tour -- featuring Sevendust, Slipknot, Coal Chamber, Nashville Pussy, Slayer, Sepultura, Soulfly, (hed)p.e., and Mudvayne -- have been announced. The proper kickoff is set for July 18 in Lawrence, Kan., but a July 15 show in Portland, Ore., is set to merge with radio station KUFO's Rockfest, for which Stone Temple Pilots has already been confirmed.
The event will encompass two music stages, a festival village featuring tattoo, body piercing and painting booths, and a celebration of "the cultural phenomenon of body art." The tour is expected to play 25 North American dates at alternative venues such as racetracks and fairgrounds
