Barbra Streisand's "Love Is The Answer" (Columbia/Sony Music Entertainment) climbed 4-1 on the new U.K. album chart, becoming her sixth No. 1 on that survey, but her first chart-topping studio album since 1980. Giving Sony labels a chart double, North London rapper Chipmunk's "Oopsy Daisy" (Jive) debuted atop the singles countdown last night (Oct. 11).

Streisand last led the U.K. album market in 2002, when "The Essential Barbra Streisand" was No. 1, but the vocalist has only once before topped the list with a studio release, when "Guilty" for two weeks late in 1980. The new album was propelled to the top with the help of her appearance on a special edition of BBC1's "Friday Night With Jonathan Ross" Oct. 2 and sold 27,000 units last week, according to Official U.K. Charts Company data.

Madonna's "Celebration" (Warner Bros.) held at No. 2 as Paramore's "Brand New Eyes" (Fueled By Ramen/Warner Music) fell 1-3. "Reunited" (EMI), a new set of re-recorded greatest hits by chart veterans Cliff Richard and the Shadows, climbed 7-4, while the former No. 1 "We'll Meet Again - The Very Best of Dame Vera Lynn" (Decca/Universal) climbed back 10-5.

"Still So Far To Go - The Best Of Chris Rea" (Rhino/Universal) gave the English singer-guitarist a new entry at No. 8, his best ranking since a previous "Best Of" reached No. 3 in 1994. Sony Music's new "Very Best of Andy Williams" compilation, released to coincide with the octogenarian singer's U.K. tour, debuted at No. 10.

Acoustic-based London band Mumford & Sons' debut album "Sigh No More" (Universal Island) was a new entry at No. 11 as their single "Little Lion Man" jumped 47-24. Deadmau5's "For Lack of a Better Name" (Virgin/EMI) came in at No. 19 and there was another dance-flavoured new entry at No. 20 for Tiesto's "Kaleidoscope" (Musical Freedom).

Chipmunk's No. 1 singles debut, on sales of 82,000 and with vocals by Miss Dee, follows his No. 6 success with "Diamond Rings" featuring Emili Sande, which hit No. 6 in July. His "I Am Chipmunk" is released in the U.K. today. British pop girl group the Saturdays entered at No. 2 with "Forever Is Over" (Fascination/Polydor/Universal), their fifth U.K. top ten hit in little more than a year.

"Empire State of Mind" (Roc Nation/Warner Music) by Jay-Z featuring Alicia Keys fell back 2-3 and Taio Cruz's "Break Your Heart" (Universal Island), No. 1 for the last three weeks, fell to No. 4. The Temper Trap's "Sweet Disposition" (Infectious) climbed again 7-6 and Daughtry's "What About Now" (Epic/Sony Music Entertainment) raced 39-11.

There was also a No. 12 debut for Whitney Houston's "Million Dollar Bill" (Arista/Sony Music Entertainment), as Tinchy Stryder's "You're Not Alone" (Universal Island) climbed 32-14 and Jordin Sparks improved 18-15 with "S.O.S. (Let The Music Play)" (Jive/Sony Music Entertainment).

Madonna's "Celebration" is in a second week at No. 1 on Billboard's European Top 100 Albums and "Sexy Chick" (Gum/Positiva/Virgin/EMI) by David Guetta featuring Akon is spending a fifth week at No. 1 on European Hot 100 Singles.
