He's being purposely vague on specific details, but Corey Taylor promises that Stone Sour's follow-up to 2010's "Audio Secrecy" will be "probably the biggest thing we've done in our career."

"Right now we're just working on demos...and a pretty grandiose idea that I've been kind of chewing on for a long time," Taylor tells Billboard.com. "On a musical scale, artistically, visually, we're going to swing for the fences with this one. If we can pull it off, it would be really cool and...put a lot of people in their place. I'm really excited to get working on it."

Taylor expects to hit the studio with Stone Sour in 2012, between Slipknot's run on February's Soundwave Festival in Australia and a summer tour of North America that's slated to kick off in mid-June. "We've got a lot of great ideas already," Taylor reports. "We've got some people we're looking to work with. Once we have more information on it, we'll let everybody know."

Taylor, meanwhile, is prepping for the Nov. 14 start of a 19-date solo tour -- which he's dubbed "my month-long bull session" -- during which he'll read from his new book, "Seven Deadly Sins: Settling the Argument Between Born Bad and Damaged Good," do some Q&A with the audience and, of course, play music. It grew out of performances he did in England to promote the book, which he says "were such a success we were like, 'Why don't we try doing it in the States and see what happens.' "

"It's everything I love to do in a show -- basically run my mouth and play guitar and sing," Taylor says. "It's almost like if Johnny Cash and Henry Rollins were the same person, this is the kind of show they would do."

Taylor says he'll perform Slipknot and Stone Sour songs as well as "a bunch of my favorite covers. I'm almost like a jukebox; I know so many songs that it's hard to keep track sometimes. Probably the last half-hour will be like a jukebox, basically, just taking requests and see if I can pull some s*** out of my ass. I just love getting up and playing for an audience, whether it's just me and a guitar or me running around like a maniac."

Taylor will be posting video clips from the concerts on his web site "to show people what to expect when they come to one of these things." He also plans to write an additional chapter for "Seven Deadly Sins" that will include "a lot of moments from this tour."

Taylor says he "couldn't be happier" with the reception for "Seven Deadly Sins," which spent four weeks on the New York Times Best Seller list and five weeks on the Times of London's chart. "It's just one more thing I can say I've done and just one more thing I can do with my life," explains Taylor, who's already eyeballing other book projects. "I've already got an idea for my next book," he says, "and it'll probably take me a little time to get it together. If I get to do it, it might please a lot of people and it might also piss a lot of people off, but it's not like I've let that hold me back so far."

Taylor adds that he and Slipknot's Shawn "Clown" Crahan are also planning to start a film production company to "try to get the movies made that we like and gather the black sheep or the misfits of the Hollywood society and try to make some movies and shake things up." But, he notes, that endeavor is "still a little way off, so we'll see what happens."
