Stars Set For Roving Verizon Festival

Tony Bennett, Ray Charles, India, and Al Jarreau are among the headliners for the 2002 Verizon Music Festival, which is set to hit four cities this fall. The festival kicks off Sept. 17-22 in New York, and will also land in Los Angeles Sept. 30-Oct. 6, Tampa, Fla., Nov. 2-8, and Oct. 20 and Nov. 14-15 in Washington, D.C. Bela Fleck, Fourplay, Joe Sample, Wayne Shorter, and Regina Carter will also appear.

The festival will include a mix of ticketed and free concerts in a wide range of venues, from concert halls to clubs to outdoor shows. Among those venues already locked in are New York's Carnegie Hall, Beacon Theater, and Battery Park; Los Angeles' Royce Hall, Wadsworth Theater, Pasadena Old Central Park, and California Plaza; Tampa's Tampa Theater, Ruth Eckerd Hall, and Coachman Park; and Washington, D.C.'s Cramton Auditorium and Lisner Auditorium.
