Snoop Busted For Pot Possession

Beleaguered rapper Snoop Doggy Dogg was arrested late Friday night for possession of marijuana. The No Limit artist, whose given name is Calvin Broadus, and MC Delmar Arnaud were each found with less than an ounce of the drug; they were booked on one count of misdemeanor marijuana possession each. The incident occurred at the Universal Amphitheater in Los Angeles, where the pair were giving an impromptu performance at No Limit's "I Got The Hook Up" comedy show. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Broadus had walked backstage after his part and was slapped in the face by an unidentified male. Broadus alerted a sheriff's deputy at the scene, who smelled marijuana and searched the rapper.

This marijuana charge is yet another chapter in the 26-year-old artist's rap sheet. In 1990, he was convicted of cocaine possession, and in 1993 was charged with gun possession. He was also acquitted of murder in 1996, a charge arising from the death of an alleged street gang member killed by gunfire from the vehicle in which Broadus was traveling.
