Ubiquitous guitar hero Slash will be offering the opportunity for an unsigned band to record a 3-song EP with himself and renowned Guns N' Roses producer Mike Clink, as part of an upcoming Guitar Center contest.

"Your Next Record with Slash" offers the chance to write, record, and perform an album with one of the world's great rock guitar players. Interested bands can submit their music to YourNextRecord.com now through Apr. 30, 2010 and winners will be handpicked by Slash and Clink.

The winning artist's single will be featured on iTunes as part of a prize package that includes management and distribution opportunities as well as gear from Guitar Center and Ernie Ball Music Man.

Slash, whose first solo album will be released April 2010, says he's excited at the opportunity the contest will provide for emerging acts to gain recognition. The contest coincides with the "Shred with Slash" guitar strings promotion that offers a 2-hour master class with the guitarist, among other prizes.
