Shawnna Heads Back To The 'Block'

Rapper Shawnna, a member of Ludacris' Disturbing Tha Peace clique, will release her sophomore album "Block Music" June 27 via Disturbing Tha Peace/Island Def Jam. The album features appearances from Lil Wayne and Too Short, as well as DTP artists Ludacris, Bobby Valentino and Shareefa, among others.

Lead single "Gettin' Some" is also a hidden track on the compilation "Ludacris Presents ... Disturbing Tha Peace" and is currently No. 6 on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. A second single, "Damn" featuring Smoke of Field Mob, will impact radio early next month.

Shawnna told Billboard.com in March that several remixes of "Gettin' Some" were in the works, featuring Busta Rhymes, Rick Ross, Twista, UGK's Pimp C and Too Short. The song uses the chorus from the latter's 1993 cut "Bl**job Betty."

Shawnna, the daughter of legendary blues guitarist Buddy Guy, released her debut album "Worth Tha Weight" in 2004. The disc peaked at No. 22 on The Billboard 200 and has sold 136,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
