Seether Scraps Tour As Frontman Enters Rehab

Comments

Seether has scrapped a three-week tour with Staind and Three Days Grace after frontman Shaun Morgan entered an undisclosed rehabilitation center to treat dependency on unidentified substances. Morgan "admitted to himself and those close to him that he needs help and is making the proactive move to seek it," reads a statement from Wind-Up Records.

Seether's August tour, on which it was planning to perform acoustically, was to begin Aug. 5 in Maryland Heights, Mo., and run through Aug. 30 in Birmingham, Ala. The band's last show for now will be Saturday (July 29) at the KUFO Rockfest in Saint Helens, Ore. The fate of an eight-date U.K. tour in October is unknown.

"I'm deeply sorry that this news comes right before a planned tour, especially one that I was so excited about, and I hope that everyone understands," Morgan said in a statement. "I need help with addictions that I can't kick on my own. These things are making me sick, and could potentially harm me permanently, so I need to take care of them as soon as possible."

Earlier this month, Seether issued the CD/DVD "One Cold Night," chronicling an acoustic performance taped Feb. 22 in Philadelphia.
