Seals Taps Sturmer, Crowell For Help On New Disc

Country-pop artist Brady Seals' new album, "Thompson Street," due Feb. 25 from Image Entertainment, will feature songs co-written with Nashville singer/songwriter/producer Rodney Crowell and ex-Jellyfish singer/guitarist Andy Sturmer. The disc will be the third solo album from ex-Little Texas keyboardist Seals, who is the cousin of Jim Seals of Seals & Crofts, and the nephew of country songwriter Troy Seals.

Seals lets more of his classic pop sensibilities seep into the music on "Thompson Street" than on previous solo albums, utilizing various keyboards and guitars. He recalls the likes of the Beatles and the Beach Boys on tracks like the Crowell-co-written "Soon" and the Sturmer collaborations "That's How It Goes" and "Our Last Goodbye."

Seals self-produced and engineered the disc, though "Our Last Goodbye" was co-produced with Sturmer. Other notable cuts on "Thompson Street" are the rocking title cut and "Free Love," and the socially aware "10 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1."

Seals is planning a tour in support of "Thompson Street" and is also pondering an outing with his former group, Little Texas. Seals' last appearance on the Billboard charts came in 1997 when his solo debut, "The Truth" (Reprise), peaked at No. 39 on the Heatseekers survey.
