Run cited a letter he received from DMC that he described as "the funniest thing I've ever read" -- in a good way -- and opened the door for the possibility of a future collaboration.
"That showed me that D is down to do it," Run explained, "but he wants to make sure it goes through...a bunch of people that understand stuff, contracts, better than him. So if it's got to do with an album, if it's got to do with touring, it's just got to be right. I'm waiting for D to be right there, and we'll figure it all out."
McDaniels will be releasing a new solo album this year, he told Billboard.com.
Following the rap group's induction, McDaniels said the album will be titled "Origins of Block Music" and will be "a rock album. It's gonna be really good and interesting." He also promised that "it's not gonna be depressing, like my first solo album (2006's "Checks Thugs and Rock N Roll"). [After] my first album, everyone where I go people are like, 'Are you OK...?'"
His partner Joseph "Run" Simmons chimed in that, "You were carrying darkness, and now you're free, so better things are gonna happen. You're happier."
