Royal Crown Revue Debuts Label, Sets Dates

Swing band Royal Crown Revue is shifting into high gear this summer, readying a new disc and embarking on a diverse array of dates. Due July 20, "Walk On Fire" will be the band's debut release on their RCR Records label. The album's 10 new tracks, which draw upon the R&B and jazz ensembles of the '40s and '50s, feature the group's extensive collection of vintage instruments and recording gear. It was produced in five days in conjunction with punk rock indie SideOne/Dummy, which is home to such artists as Suicidal Tendencies and 7 Seconds.

To promote the release, Royal Crown Revue will take to the stage as part of the Vans Warped tour and the related Watcha Latin Musicfest, as well as perform at some of the premier U.S. jazz gatherings, including the JVC Jazz Festival in Concord, Calif., and the Newport Jazz Festival in Newport, R.I. In addition, the group will headline two shows with Los Angeles' Hollywood Bowl Orchestra in September.

The complete list of Royal Crown Revue tour dates are available at its Web site, www.rcr.com.

Royal Crown Revue was formerly signed to Warner Bros. Records, but parted amicably with the label earlier this year.
