Rogers, Parton Get Back Under 'Covers'

Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton recently teamed to a record a song together for the first time since 1990. The new Parton-penned cut, "Undercover," will be included on Rogers' upcoming album, "Back to the Well," due Sept. 23 on Rogers' Dreamcatcher label.

Parton and Rogers' best-known collaboration is 1983's smash hit "Islands in the Stream," which topped Billboard's Hot Country Singles & Tracks and Adult Contemporary charts.

"When Dolly and I first started talking about recording again, we listened to several songs," Rogers said on his official Web site. "Right from the start, I knew it had to be a song that Dolly would write because no one could write better for us than she can. It was great to be back in the studio with her again."

"I always forget how much I love Kenny as a person and how much I love to hear him sing until we get together again," Parton added. "What a joyful day we had. I know we have many fans and I think they will enjoy 'Undercover.' It's just a fun, lighthearted, lovin' song that fits our personalities perfect."

As previously reported, Parton will be the subject of the tribute album "Just Because I'm a Woman," due Oct. 14 via Vanguard. She also guests on the Louvin Brothers tribute album "Livin' Lovin' Losin'," due Sept. 30 from Universal South.
