Rihanna scores a No. 1 debut on Billboard's European Albums chart with "Loud" (Def Jam/Universal), and makes it a double by starting a fourth week atop European Hot 100 Singles with "Only Girl (In The World)" (Def Jam/Universal).

"Loud" enters at No. 1 in Switzerland, No. 2 in Germany and Ireland, No. 3 in France and Austria, No. 6 in Spain and Holland, No. 7 in Norway. It sells 91,000 in the United Kingdom for a No. 2 debut there. "Only Girl," meanwhile, holds at No. 2 in France, Spain and Denmark, and climbs 4-2 in Sweden.

Bruce Springsteen's album of unreleased 1978 material, "The Promise: Darkness on The Edge of Town," opens at No. 2 Europe-wide, and at No. 1 in Germany and Spain, climbing 19-1 in Norway. It's in at No. 4 in Holland, Denmark and Ireland, No. 5 in Austria, No. 7 in the United Kingdom and No. 9 in Switzerland.

Completing an all-new European top three, Pink starts at No. 3 with "Greatest Hits - So Far" (LaFace/Sony Music Entertainment). The compilation is in at No. 3 in Germany and Holland, No. 4 in Switzerland and Austria, No. 5 in the United Kingdom and No. 9 in Denmark

The influx of new titles forces Bon Jovi's "Greatest Hits - The Ultimate Collection" (Mercury/Universal) down to No. 4 after two week's as Europe's No. 1 album. It also falls from the top in Ireland and Sweden. Also in decline on European Albums are Shakira's "Sale El Sol" (Epic/Sony Music Entertainment), 3-5; James Blunt's "Some Kind of Trouble" (Atlantic/Warner Music), 2-6; and Susan Boyle's "The Gift" (Syco Music/Sony Music Entertainment), 5-7.

Shakira climbs 5-4 in Spain, while the single "Loca," with Dizzee Rascal, holds at No. 1 in Spain and Switzerland. Blunt loses the No. 1 spot in Switzerland, falling to No. 3, and Boyle holds at No. 3 in the Belgian region of Flanders but falls 1-3 in the United Kingdom and 1-9 in Holland.

Take That's No. 8 pan-European debut with "Progress" (Polydor/Universal) is fuelled chiefly by record-breaking sales of 518,000 in the United Kingdom, the highest opening tally for any album there this century. It's also in at No. 1 in Ireland and Denmark. The single "The Flood" holds at No. 2 in the United Kingdom, climbs 8-3 in Ireland and 15-10 in Denmark.

The European top ten is completed by two more albums descending the chart, Kings of Leon's  "Come Around Sundown" (Hand Me Down/Sony Music Entertainment), 4-9, and Robbie Williams' "In and Out of Consciousness - Greatest Hits 1990-2010" (Virgin/EMI), 8-10. "Sundown" is still No. 1 in Poland, while the Williams retrospective has its best ranking of the week at No. 9 in Hungary.
