Rihanna will play a tour of U.K. arenas in May 2010.

The Live-Nation promoted tour will call at eight U.K. venues including the O2 Arena in London.

The Barbadian R&B artist recently launched her new album, "Rated R" (SRP/Def Jam), in the U.K. with a Nov. 16 show at the O2 Academy Brixton featuring guest spots from Jay-Z and Young Jeezy.

The U.K. tour dates are: Birmingham LG Arena (May 7), Liverpool Echo Arena (May 8), London O2 Arena (May 10), Sheffield Arena (May 13), Nottingam Arena (May 14), Manchester Evening News Arena (May 16), Newcastle Arena (May 17) and Glasgow SECC (May 19).

Tickets go on sale on Dec. 11.
