Hard rock group Rev Theory has canceled their fall tour due to a freak accident that left guitarist Julien Jorgensen with a severed tendon in his left hand.

While at a post-wedding reception in Las Vegas, Jorgensen injured his hand while standing next to someone who was attempting to open a beer bottle without a bottle opener. According to a press release, the bottle "slipped, shattered on the edge, and sliced the guitarist's left hand on the follow through."

While Jorgensen has been operated on and is expected to make a full recovery, the band has scrapped its spot on a tour with Five Finger Death Punch, Hatebreed and All That Remains that is scheduled to kick off on Sunday (Oct. 16) in San Francisco. "I am super bummed that happened, and it is a freak accident," says Jorgensen. "It is a helpless feeling. I feel bad about dropping off the tour and disappointing the fans. As soon as I am able, we will be back on the road."

Rev Theory has also canceled its appearance at the 48 Hours Festival in Las Vegas next weekend. The Massachusetts-based group planned on touring behind its third album, "Justice," which debuted at No. 75 on the Billboard 200 in March.
