Rapper Capone Readies Solo Debut

Although his recording career covers more than seven years, rapper Capone is preparing to release his debut solo disc. Due July 12 via Pain, Time & Glory Enterprises/Fastlife Music/Koch, "Pain, Time & Glory" boasts a list of guests that includes Akon, Scarface and Raekwon, among others.

The rapper is best known as half of the New York duo Capone-N-Noreaga (CNN), which released two albums, 1997's "The War Report" (Penalty/Tommy Boy) and 2000's "The Reunion" (Tommy Boy). The first -- which was completed by Noreaga while Capone was incarcerated for a parole violation -- opened at No. 4 on Billboard's Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, while the follow-up arrived at No. 8.

"I am definitely excited about this album; it's time for the game to see what I've been doing," Capone says. "I want to dedicate this album to the 'hood because the 'hood kept me afloat all these years."

Others who appear on the disc are C-Murder (now known as C-Miller), Bun-B, Devin The Dude and Peedi Crackk, while producers tapped to craft the collection include Heatmakerz, Twinz, Screwface and Nexxus Entertainment.
