Promise Ring Reschedules Tourr

The Promise Ring has announced a quartet of February West Coast tour dates to make up for dates the noted indie rock group canceled when it pulled out of last fall's Bad Religion tour. The new round of shows kicks off Feb. 8 at the Glass House in Pomona, Calif., and also includes four Midwest dates that will wrap Feb. 18 in Chicago.

The group canceled its dates with Bad Religion in October due to "unforeseen circumstances," and in December scuttled a five-city tour due to "unspecified health reasons."

In May, Promise Ring lead singer Davey vonBohlen underwent emergency surgery to remove a benign brain tumor, necessitating the cancellation of a European tour. The group's Jade Tree album, "Very Emergency," was released in the fall of 1999.

Here are Promise Ring tour dates:

Feb. 8: Pomona, Calif. (Glass House)
Feb. 9: Los Angeles (El Rey Theatre)
Feb. 10: Santa Cruz, Calif. (The Rio)
Feb. 11: San Francisco (Great American Music Hall)
Feb. 15: Oshkosh, Wisc. (Union Square)
Feb. 16: St. Louis, Mo. (Gargoyle)
Feb. 17: Champaign, Ill. (Hi Dive, with Centromatic)
Feb. 18 Chicago (Empty Bottle, with Centromatic)
