Powter Tacks New Single Onto Hit Album

Comments

Canadian vocalist Daniel Powter will on Nov. 7 release a CD/DVD edition of his self-titled Warner Bros. debut. The audio disc will feature several new tracks, including "Love You Lately," a song Powter wrote on the road and began performing this year during his U.S. and European outings.

The track will be worked to U.S. radio outlets as a new single; it was debuted yesterday (Sept. 6) on the syndicated "Live With Regis & Kelly" show.

The CD includes live B-sides of the singles "Bad Day," "Free Loop" and "Song 6" while the DVD boasts music videos for "Bad Day," "Jimmy Gets High," "Free Loop" and "Lie To Me," in addition to concert footage and an eight-song live performance taped in Los Angeles.

"Daniel Powter" bowed at No. 9 on The Billboard 200 and has sold 500,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Lead single "Bad Day" spent five weeks atop the Hot 100 and 18 at No. 1 on the Adult Contemporary tally.

Powter is presently off the road but is planning to tour this fall.
