Posthumous Proof Album Due Next Year

A final album from late D12 rapper Proof will be released next year via his Detroit-based label, Iron First Records. "Time a Tell" features 18 songs Proof wrote and recorded in a 24-hour period in January, according to the Detroit News.

Proof crafted the material after a challenge from friend Julius Myers (DJ Jewels Baby) to make a full album in one day's time. The project was recorded in Myers' Detroit home studio. "It shows how serious Proof was about recording," Myers told the Detroit News.

Iron Fist issued Proof's solo debut, "Searching for Jerry Garcia," in August 2005. As previously reported, the rapper was shot to death April 11 after a fight at Detroit after-hours club.

An unreleased Proof track, "Trapped," appears on the new compilation "Eminem Presents: The Re-Up," released last week via Shady/Interscope.
