Perez Hilton is aiming to hit Ryan Seacrest where it hurts.

The celebrity blogger will be launching a weekly music countdown show in the coming months, he announced exclusively to Billboard.com in an interview at South By Southwest this weekend. Hilton says that he wants to offer "a cooler alternative to ('On-Air With) Ryan Seacrest,'" the 'American Idol' host's syndicated top 40 morning radio show that launched in 2004.

Hilton says his show (will be a platform for interviews as well as a mix of popular and new music. "I want the best songs in the country plus ... my own picks -- songs that I would love to expose the masses to."

Hilton further explains that he wants to talk in depth with artists and "ask them the questions that ..  Seacrest would not ask them. I want to ask Justin Bieber, 'Have you seen that website LesbianswholooklikeJustinBieber.com?' I can make fun of someone and still be a fan," he said with a coy grin.

The blogger already has a nationally syndicated show, Radio Perez, in which he reveals updates from his blogs. Hilton also told Billboard.com that he will be launching a third website besides the original PerezHilton.com and CocoPerez.com (a fashion site), but he was mum on details about that venture. He also launched his own record label, Perezcious Music, in 2009.

Hilton broke the news to Billboard before the start of his Saturday night (March 20) "One Night in Austin" showcase at South By Southwest, which featured artists HoleSnoop Dogg, Estelle and Macy Gray, in addition to up-and-coming acts like Marina & the Diamonds and Alphabeat.
