Paul & Linda McCartney Shown Love in Nashville With 'Let Us In' Album, Concert

Sir Paul McCartney. Nashville. Those two terms might be not necessarily linked at the hip. However, next Monday, those two musical giants will come together for a great cause.

Paul McCartney will pay homage to some of the songs that inspired his greatest songwriting achievements on a forthcoming, still-untitled album, due out Feb. 7, 2012 on Hear Music/Concord Records.

The follow-up to 2007's "Memory Almost Full" will feature reinterpretations of songs that shaped McCartney's career with the Beatles and as a solo artist, as well as two new tracks, "My Valentine" and "Only Our Hearts." "Valentine" will feature a guest appearance by Eric Clapton, while "Hearts" finds McCartney re-teaming with "Ebony & Ivory" collaborator Stevie Wonder

McCartney recorded his take on the classic tracks at Capitol Studios in Los Angeles, New York and London throughout this year with producers Tommy LiPuma and Diana Krall. "When I kind of got into songwriting, I realized how well structured these songs were and I think I took a lot of my lessons from them," says McCartney in a press release. "I always thought artists like Fred Astaire were very cool. Writers like Harold Arlen, Cole Porter, all of those guys - I just thought the songs were magical.  And then, as I got to be a songwriter I thought it's beautiful, the way they made those song'."

Although a full track list has yet to be announced, McCartney fans can stream "My Valentine" at the singer's official website for 24 hours beginning on Monday (Dec. 19). Earlier this month, "The Love We Make," a documentary chronicling McCartney's plan to play an NYC benefit concert in the wake of 9/11, was released on DVD and Blu-Ray.
