Paris Pencils Debut Album In For August

Comments

With her single "Stars Are Blind" unexpectedly making an impact on the Billboard charts, Paris Hilton will on Aug. 22 release her self-titled album via Warner Bros. "Stars Are Blind" is No. 16 this week on the Billboard Pop 100; its accompanying video is in rotation on MTV and VH1.

The album finds Hilton collaborating with such producers as Scott Storch, Dr. Luke and Jonathan "J.R." Rotem, while rappers Jadakiss and Fat Joe make a guest appearance on "Fightin' Over Me." Among the other tracks is Hilton's cover of Rod Stewart's "Do Ya Think I'm Sexy."

"She has a certain tone that's reminiscent of Cyndi Lauper and Blondie," Storch told Billboard in April of Hilton's sound. "The album doesn't have one particular sound. It's just good music; a combination of R&B, hip-hop and pop. It will surprise a lot of people because there's real artistry coming from Paris."

A behind-the-scenes special on the creation of "Paris Hilton" will premiere Aug. 8 on MTV.
