Paramore scored its first U.K. No. 1 album yesterday (Sunday) with "Brand New Eyes" (Fueled By Ramen/Warner Music), as Taio Cruz's "Break Your Heart" (Universal Island) began a third week atop the singles survey.

Paramore's previous best U.K. album chart peak was No. 20 for their second album "Riot!," which debuted at No. 24 in July, 2007 and was later certified gold for 100,000 shipments here. "Brand New Eyes" is Warner Music's third consecutive No. 1 album in the U.K. following Muse's "The Resistance" and Madonna's "Celebration." The latter compilation dropped 1-2 in the new data from the Official Charts Company.

British singer-songwriter Newton Faulkner's "Rebuilt By Humans" (Ugly Truth/Sony Music Entertainment), the follow-up to his million-selling debut set "Hand Built By Robots," opened at No. 3 and Barbra Streisand's "Love Is The Answer" (Columbia/Sony Music Entertainment) at No. 4. The Muse album dropped 2-5 in its third week and the other top ten newcomer was former Stone Roses frontman Ian Brown's sixth solo album to make that top ten, "My Way" (Fiction/Universal), at No. 8.

British pop newcomer Paloma Faith's debut album "Do You Want The Truth or Something" (Epic/Sony Music Entertainment) started at No. 14, with Basshunter's "Bass Generation" (Hard2Beat) new at No. 16 and Alice In Chains' "Black Gives Way To Blue" (Parlophone/EMI) at No. 19. "The Ultimate Michael Bolton" (Sony Music) debuted at No. 20.

Taio Cruz's third week at No. 1 on the singles chart came as "Empire State of Mind" (Roc Nation/Warner Music) by Jay-Z featuring Alicia Keys climbed 3-2. Black Eyed Peas' "I Gotta Feeling" (Interscope/Universal) climbed 6-5 in its 16th chart week, and Australian band the Temper Trap's "Sweet Disposition" (Infectious) became their first U.K. top ten single, climbing 12-7. Pitbull's "Hotel Room Service" (J/Sony Music Entertainment) climbed 21-9 and Dizzee Rascal's "Dirtee Cash" (Dirtee Stank) 11-10.

Billboard's current pan-European sales compilations show Madonna's "Celebration" debuting atop European Top 100 Albums, and a fourth week at the Eurochart Hot 100 Singles summit for "Sexy Chick" (Gum/Positiva/Virgin/EMI) by David Guetta featuring Akon.
