Paisley Makes 'Time' For Fourth Album

Comments

With first single "Alcohol" already in the top 20 on Billboard's country chart, Brad Paisley is gearing up for the release of his fourth album, "Time Well Wasted." Recorded in Nashville with longtime producer Frank Rogers (Darryl Worley, Phil Vassar), the set is due Aug. 16 via Arista Nashville.

"I've tried my best to revisit the things that people expect from me, like including a gospel song and doing instrumentals and also humor on occasion," remarks Paisley. "But I've also recorded some things that will hopefully take listeners to a different place."

The album features a guest appearance by country music veteran Dolly Parton, about which Paisley recently wrote on his official Web site, "that's, as you can imagine, the living end for me." He also noted that he hoped to recruit another legend, Buck Owens, to sing harmony elsewhere on the set.

A light-hearted look at the effects of liquor throughout the ages, ("influencing kings and world leaders," "helping white people dance") "Alcohol" is No. 20 in its sixth week on Billboard's Hot Country Songs tally.

"Time Well Wasted" is the follow-up to 2003's "Mud on the Tires," which bowed at No. 1 on the Top Country Albums chart and No. 8 on The Billboard 200. The set, which has sold 1.9 million copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan, spawned such hits as "Celebrity," "Little Moments," "Whiskey Lullaby" and the title track.

Paisley will be on the road throughout the summer. He next plays Auburn, Wash., on Friday (June 10).
