Minnesota native Adam Young, better known as Owl City, moves 7-1 on the Billboard Hot 100 with "Fireflies," his debut effort on the list. The track earns the Digital Gainer honor, moving 2-1 on Digital Songs with 196,000 downloads (up 26%). The track also moves into the top 30 of Radio Songs in just its third week (42-28). The track's popularity is spurring sales of Owl City's debut set "Ocean Eyes" as it leaps into the top 10 of the Billboard 200.
 
Last week's No. 1, Jay Sean's "Down," falls two slots to No. 3, leaving Jason DeRulo in the runner-up spot for a second week with "Whatcha Say." Miley Cyrus' "Party In The U.S.A." slips one place (3-4) as does "Run This Town" by Jay-Z, Rihanna and Kanye West (4-5).
 
Lady Gaga remains at No. 6 with "Papparazzi" and the Black Eyed Peas move 9-7 with "Meet Me Halfway" and fall 8-9 with "I Gotta Feeling." The latter track has appeared in the top 10 in each of its 20 weeks on the chart.
 
Rounding out the top 10 are Britney Spears' "3" which slides 5-8 and Beyonce's "Sweet Dreams" which enters the top 10 (11-10) as the Airplay Gainer. "Dreams" is Beyonce's 13th top 10 this decade, tying her for second most in the 2000's.
 
Usher's "Papers" delivers the chart's biggest position increase (92-31) fueled by first week digital sales (34,000) and a strong airplay bump (48-33 on Radio Songs).
 
The Glee Cast adds yet another pair of song to their chart tally as its rendition of Neil Diamond's "Sweet Caroline" is the Hot Shot Debut at No. 34 and its take on "Bust A Move," Young MC's 1989 top 10 hit, comes in at No. 93.
 
Other notable debuts include Adam Lambert's first post-"Idol" chart entry at No. 50 with "A Time For Miracles," a song featured in the upcoming blockbuster film "2012;" Snoop Dogg's return to the Hot 100 for the first time since "Sensual Seduction" peaked at No. 7 in March 2008 as "Gangsta Luv" lands at No. 57; "Southern Voice," Tim McGraw's current top 20 Country hit (No. 16), debuts at No. 61; and T-Pain parlays a Verizon download exclusive (29,000 sold) into a No. 80 entry for "Take Your Shirt Off."
 
Rihanna starts off at the lowest end of the chart (No. 100) with "Russian Roulette," however the bet is that she will quickly rise into the upper reaches as the track will hit digital retail sites next week and will impact her Hot 100 ranking the subsequent week.
