Sibling members Phil and Paul Hartnoll have also confirmed details of two high-profile live appearances June 21-22 in the courtyard of London's stately Somerset House, as well a June 29 headline slot at the U.K.'s revived Glastonbury Festival.
In other news, the group has written a new track, "Technologisky Park," due to appear on the soundtrack to the upcoming film "XXX." As previously reported, "XXX" features rapper Eve and also stars Vin Diesel and Samuel L. Jackson. Orbital will also appear in the film.
On June 24, DMC will release Orbital's edition of the popular "Back to Mine" mix CDs. In addition to a previously unreleased instrumental version of their own "Ska'd for Life," the Hartnoll brothers have selected everything from PJ Harvey's "Kamikaze," Jethro Tull's "Living in the Past," and Plaid's "New Bass Hippo."
Named after Greater London's notorious M25 ring road (around which the U.K. "rave" scene flourished in the late '80s), Orbital is widely credited with bringing dance music out of clubs and into the live arena, eventually paving the way for acts such as the Chemical Brothers and Basement Jaxx.
