NYC Rockers Come Alive On 'Continental' CDs

Live recordings from Joey, Dee Dee and Marky Ramone, the Lunachicks, the Bouncing Souls, the Dead Boys' Cheetah Chrome and Cro-Mags lead the track list for "Best of NYC -- Live at Continental," to be released this spring via Continentalnyc.com Records. Two 23-track installments are planned to arrive April 19 and May 10, respectively.

Most of the material here was captured in October 1999 by a mobile recording truck parked outside the venerable East Village venue. "[This is] a special document for all of us of that time period in the '90s that we'll always have," says Continental owner Trigger. "There will probably be future compilations, but this particular group of bands could never be duplicated."

The late Joey Ramone is featured on disc one performing the Ramones classic "I Wanna Be Sedated," while his rendition of "Blitzkrieg Bop" appears on disc two. Dee Dee and Marky offer up "Cretin Hop" with the Remainz.

The albums also feature selections from Agnostic Front, Jesse Malin's Bellvue, Patti Smith Band guitarist Lenny Kaye and Murphy's Law.
