Comments

Britney Spears couldn't make it one more time at the top of The Billboard 200, as Silkk The Shocker's "Made Man" (No Limit/Priority) and Dave Matthews/ Tim Reynolds "Live At Luther College" (Bama Rags/RCA) debuted at No. 1 and No. 2, respectively, on the album chart. The Silkk set sold 240,000 units, according to SoundScan, while the Dave/Tim album moved 187,000.

Spears' Jive set " ... Baby One More Time" lands in the No. 3 spot on The Billboard 200 on sales of 123,000 copies; the title track, however, remains atop The Billboard Hot 100 for a second week.

Columbia punk-pop act the Offspring holds down the No. 4 position with "Americana" (114,000 copies), while boy band 'N Sync drops to No. 5 with its self-titled RCA set (103,000 copies). Grammy favorite Lauryn Hill stakes out No. 6 with her Ruffhouse/Columbia solo album, "The Miseducation Of Lauryn Hill" (102,000 copies).

Rapper DMX scores the No. 7 slot, as his "Flesh Of My Flesh, Blood Of My Blood" (Ruff Ryders/Def Jam/Mercury) shifts 98,000 units, while 2Pac's "Greatest Hits" (Amaru/Death Row/Interscope) is No. 8 on the strength of 96,000 units. Dixie Chicks' "Wide Open Spaces" (Monument/Sony Nashville) is next, moving 89,000 units, while Jay-Z wraps things up with "Vol. 2 ... Hard Knock Life" (Roc-A-Fella-Def Jam/Mercury), which holds down No. 10 after selling 88,000 copies.

Among other notable debuts this week are "up up up up up up" by Ani DiFranco (Righteous Babe), which comes in at No. 29; "The Singles 81>85" by Depeche Mode (Mute/Reprise/Warner Bros.), No. 114; " 'Bout It" by Jesse Powell (Silas/MCA), No. 139; and "With Love" by Kenny Rogers (onQ/Madacy), No. 185.
