Adele extended her run atop the album chart with "21"  (XL) to eight weeks yesterday (Sunday), setting a new digital record in the process, as Nicole Scherzinger claimed her first U.K. solo No. 1 single with  "Don't Hold Your Breath" (Interscope/Universal).

The million-selling "21" has now sold 320,000 of its sales tally on download, a new British record according to the Official Charts Company, overtaking the one set by Lady Gaga when "The  Fame" (Interscope/Universal) hit the 300,000 plateau in February.  Underlining Adele's continuing dominance, her first album "19" climbed back 4-2 in its 78th chart week, giving her the top two positions for the second time this month. The current single  "Someone Like You" fell to No. 2 this week after for weeks at No. 1; its predecessor "Rolling in the Deep" climbed back 9-8 and the last album's "Make You Feel My Love" dipped 33-37.

The new album chart also showed Jessie J's "Who You Are" (Lava/ Universal Island) holding at No. 3 as British rock newcomers the Vaccines arrived at No. 4 with "What Did You Expect From The Vaccines?" (Columbia/Sony Music Entertainment). Adult contemporary British vocal group the Overtones' appearance on last week's "Dancing On Ice" TV show catapulted their "Good Ol' Fashioned Love" album (Warner Music Entertainment) back 36-5 as Elbow's "Build A Rocket Boys!" (Fiction/Universal) fell four places from last week's No. 2 debut.

Easy listening vocals were further represented in the album top ten with Irish singer Daniel O'Donnell's "Moon Over Ireland" (DMG TV) up 11-9 and British entertainer Michael Ball's "Heroes" (UMTV/Universal) new  at No. 10. There was also a top 20 debut for Scottish rock band the View's "Naked and Famous" (1965/Columbia/Sony Music Entertainment), at No. 14. The compilation chart had a No. 1 debut for "Massive R&B - Spring 2011" (Rhino/UMTV).

Scherzinger's "Don't Hold Your Breath" follows the No. 3 debut and peak in December of "Poison" and a guest appearance on Enrique  Iglesias' No. 8 U.K. hit "Heartbeat" last September. All three are on her album "Killer Love," out in the U.K. today (21).

British pop band the Wanted scored another big hit as "Gold Forever" (Geffen/Universal) opened at No. 3, while "I Need A Doctor"(Interscope/Universal) by Dr. Dre featuring Eminem and Skylar  Grey improved 11-9. Interscope labelmates Black Eyed Peas' "Just Can't Get Enough" climbed 27-15 and Snoop Dogg's "Sweat" (Capitol/EMI) entered at No. 16.
