New Sawyer Brown Album Due In March

Veteran country outfit Sawyer Brown has set a March 18 release date for its 18th Curb album, "Can You Hear Me Now." The set is the follow-up to 1999's "Drive Me Wild," which debuted at No. 10 on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart and has sold 186,000 copies in the U.S., according to SoundScan. The new album's first single, "Circles," debuted last week at No. 52 on Billboard's Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart.

"There's a great deal of diversity on this album," says keyboardist Gregg Hubbard. "There are things that are just flat out fun like 'I Need a Girlfriend' -- although when you're sittin' home alone on a Friday it's not so fun! We cover a lot of ground and that makes it a more interesting album. You listen to it and I hope you get a fuller picture of real people behind it, instead of 10 songs that are all the same thing."

"Can You Hear Me Now" took more than two years to record, owing to Sawyer Brown's extensive touring schedule. Indeed, the group already has dates lined up through September, beginning Saturday (Feb. 2) in Pembroke Pines, Fla.

Since its last studio set, Sawyer Brown issued the concert album "The Hits Live," which debuted at No. 32 on the Top Country Albums chart. A similarly titled nine-track DVD, "The Hits Live In Concert," will be released Feb. 12 via Curb.

Here are Sawyer Brown's upcoming tour dates:

Feb. 2: Pembroke Pines, Fla. (C.B. Smith Park)
Feb. 8: Cherokee, N.C. (Harrah's)
Feb. 9: Lancaster, Pa. (American Music Theatre)
Feb. 23: Orlando, Fla. (Sea World)
March 2: Austin, Texas (Star of Texas Fair and Rodeo)
March 15: Carney's Point, N.J. (Salem Community College)
March 22: Marksville, La. (Paragon Casino)
March 23: Wisconsin Dells, Wisc. (Crystal Grand Theatre)
March 30: Laughlin, Nev. (Flamingo Hilton)
April 5-6: Harris, Mich. (Chip In's Island Resort)
April 13: Robinsonville, Miss. (Horseshoe Casino)
