The soundtrack also marks the initial partnership between EA and Rhino Records aimed at highlighting music from the '80s and '90s. This year's "Throwback Trax" -- selected by EA worldwide director of music and audio Steve Schnur -- is Faith No More's "From Out of Nowhere."
Rhino Records also helped to license an exclusive mash-up of the D.O.C.'s "It's Funky Enough" and Earshot's "Wait" -- mixed by DJ Z-Trip -- for the set. Tracks from Franz Ferdinand, Yung Wun, Midtown, Ozomatli, New Found Glory, the Mooney Suzuki and Hazen Street are also included on the album.
"Madden NFL 2005" is the 15th edition in the franchise, which EA says has sold close to 37 million copies.
