New Fatboy, X-Ecutioners Cuts Rock 'SSX'

Comments

New songs by Fatboy Slim and the X-Ecutioners plus previously unreleased mixes of cuts by N*E*R*D and Placebo will be found on the soundtrack to the eagerly awaited snowboarding video game "SSX 3," due Sept. 30 via Astralwerks. Slim's "Don't Let the Man Get You Down" prominently samples the Five Man Electrical Band's 1971 hit "Signs," also a 1991 No. 8 single on the Billboard's Hot 100 for Tesla.

The X-Ecutioners contribute the new song "Like This," while N*E*R*D offers the Nevis Classic Club Blaster mix of "Rock Star." Junior Sanchez's remix of Placebo's "Bitter End" is also previously unreleased.

The "SSX 3" soundtrack is rounded out by tracks from such Astralwerks all-stars as Royksopp, the Chemical Brothers, Audio Bullys, K-OS and Basement Jaxx. Songs from Kinky and Swollen Members are also featured, as is Paul Oakenfold's remix of the Faint's "Glass Danse."

"SSX 3" goes on-sale Oct. 14 and is the sequel to 2001's "SSX 2." That game's soundtrack, released by Nettwerk, featured tracks from BT, Mixmaster Mike and a remix of Run-D.M.C.'s "It's Tricky."

Here is the track list for "SSX 3":

"Don't Let the Man Get You Down," Fatboy Slim
"Mas," Kinky
