Muse

Muse and Kasabian tied for top spot at the NME music awards with two prizes apiece.

There were also standout performances from godlike genius recipient Paul Weller, who played classic Jam songs at the O2 Academy Brixton, as well as the Specials, Kasabian and the Big Pink featuring Lily Allen.

Blur and Arctic Monkeys also scored wins at the music magazine's annual awards Feb. 24, where male bands dominated.

Paramore
was the surprise winner of the international band category, beating the likes of Green Day, Kings of Leon and Vampire Weekend.

NME editor Krissi Murison said 3.6 million votes were cast to decide the outcome of the awards.

Muse won awards for best British band and best Web site, while Kasabian scooped the best album and best album artwork categories for "West Rider Pauper Lunatic Asylum" (Columbia/Sony).

Britpop veterans Blur won best live event for their gig at Hyde Park, and Arctic Monkeys were named best live band after a sell-out tour in 2009.
