Mudvayne Goes Alien For New Album

Illinois-based hard rock outfit Mudvayne has set a Nov. 19 release date for its new Epic album, "The End of All Things To Come." The set, produced by David Bottrill (King Crimson, Peter Gabriel), will be led by the single and video "Not Falling." A fall tour is in the works in support of "End," which is the follow-up to last year's "L.D. 50" That set peaked at No. 85 on The Billboard 200.

In honor of the new album, the group's masked members are assuming new identities as "neo-sci fi aliens" as well as new names: Kud has become "Chud," Gurrg has become "Guug," Spag has become "Spug," and Ryknow will be known as "Ru-D."

Since the release of "L.D. 50," Epic reissued Mudvayne's rare 1997 EP, "Kill I Oughtta," under the moniker "The Beginning of All Things To End." It reached No. 122 on The Billboard 200 last December. Last fall, the group's video "Dig" won the inaugural MTV2 award at the 2001 MTV Video Music Awards.
