Amy Winehouse

Amy Winehouse fans are one step closer to reading Mitch Winehouse's definitive account of his late daughter's life.

HarperCollins purchased the publishing rights to "Amy, My Daughter," the UK soul diva's memoir, as told by her father. HarperCollins purchased North American rights from Robin Straus at the Robin Straus Agency in conjunction with Maggie Hanbury, according to The Bookseller.

The book will be released throughout the world in 2012, also via Harper in Winehouse's native UK. Proceeds from sales will go to the Amy Winehouse Foundation, which assists young people facing various forms of adversity.

Said Mitch Winehouse, "I feel that I need to write this book to tell the true story of Amy and to help with my personal recovery."
