Mindy McCready Readies U.K. Push

Following the recent success in the U.K. of LeAnn Rimes and the Mavericks, the next Nashville artist to get a major promotional push in the territory will be Mindy McCready. Billboard correspondent Paul Sexton reports that the BMG artist visits Britain starting July 17 for high-profile promotion of "Oh Romeo," which is to be released as a single July 20 from her "If I Don't Stay The Night" album. On July 11, she will star in the fly-on-the-wall documentary "I Would Not Die For Any Man," the first of a prime-time, three-part TV series on the U.K.'s Channel 4 called "Naked Nashville." BMG will release an album of that name by artists featured in the series on July 13, and McCready has a highly prized spot performing "Oh Romeo" on BBC1's "National Lottery" show July 18.
