The final weekly U.K. sales charts of 2009, published Sunday (Dec. 27), gave "X Factor" winner Joe McElderry the No. 1 single he missed out on last week with "The Climb" (Syco Music/Sony Music Entertainment), and Michael Bublé his first bestselling album in the territory with "Crazy Love" (Reprise/Warner Music).

McElderry's single, which had to make do with a No. 2 debut last week, its huge 450,000 sales outdone by Rage Against The Machine's 502,000 with "Killing in the Name" (Epic/Sony Music Entertainment), sold a further 130,000 last week to secure the belated top spot. Sales of "Killing" fell away to 66,000, still enough for the No. 2 position.

Lady Gaga's former No. 1 "Bad Romance" (Interscope/Universal) stayed at No. 3, with Cheryl Cole's second solo hit "3 Words" (Fascination/Polydor/Universal) up 7-4 and "Starstrukk" (Photo Finish/Asylum/Warner Music) by 3OH!3 featuring Katy Perry holding at No. 5.

With most of the sales week falling before Christmas Day, the top 40 unsurprisingly showed strong downloads for many festive recurrents. "Fairytale of New York" (Warner Bros.), by the Pogues featuring Kirsty MacColl, jumped 18-12 and "All I Want For Christmas" (Columbia/Sony BMG) by Mariah Carey 21-18. Wham!'s "Last Christmas" (RCA/Sony Music Entertainment) jumped back 41-34, Slade's "Merry Xmas Everybody" (UMTV/Universal) became a U.K. top 40 hit for the seventh separate time (in its original version, with one more as a remix), climbing 45-35. Chris Rea's "Driving Home For Christmas" (Atlantic/Warner Music) jumped 63-40.

Bublé reached No. 2 with his 2007 album "Call Me Irresponsible," but "Crazy Love" is his first U.K. chart-topping title. It unseated Susan Boyle's "I Dreamed a Dream" (Syco Music/Sony Music Entertainment), which fell 1-2 but has now sold 1.6 million copies in the U.K. alone, according to the Official Charts Company. Black Eyed Peas' "The E.N.D. (The Energy Never Dies)" (Interscope/Universal) stayed at No. 3.

"I Dreamed a Dream" is on top of Billboard's European Albums listing for a third week, while Black Eyed Peas lead European Hot 100 Singles for a fourth time with "Meet Me Halfway."
