Metallica Symphonic Shows Coming To DVD

On June 13, Elektra will release the DVD counterpart to "S&M," Metallica's 1999 album of tracks from its run of concerts with Michael Kamen and the San Francisco Symphony. The DVD sports the same 21 songs featured on the CD, but also includes two bonus versions of the track "No Leaf Clover."

Users will have the ability to isolate the sound of just the band or the orchestra, and switch to multiple camera angles. The DVD version of "S&M" also features backstage footage from the concerts.

The CD version of the performances debuted at No. 2 on The Billboard 200 last December and at No. 1 on Billboard's Top Internet Album Sales chart. "No Leaf Clover" peaked at No. 1 on Billboard's Mainstream Rock Tracks chart.

Metallica, currently in the midst of a copyright infringement lawsuit against music file-swapping software company Napster, kicks off a short U.S. tour June 30 in Foxboro, Mass., with Korn, Kid Rock, Powerman 5000, and System Of A Down in tow.

The group's new single from Hollywood's "Mission Impossible 2" soundtrack, "I Disappear," is No. 2 on Billboard's Mainstream Rock Tracks chart this week.
