As previously reported, McGraw and Billy Bob Thornton will play an April 10 concert in Austin, Texas, to benefit the Gridiron Heroes spinal cord injury organization. Peter Berg, director of the film "Friday Night Lights," in which McGraw and Thornton star, is organizing the event.
McGraw will donate $1 for each tour concert ticket purchased through his official Web site to benefit his Swampstock charity and to Gridiron Heroes.
Members of his official fanclub, McGrawF.A.N., will have access to pre-sale ticket opportunities beginning tomorrow (March 23) through the site. The tour schedule and the coming week's pre-sale details will be posted each Friday.
Following the tour, McGraw has one solo date on his schedule, an Aug. 6 stop at We Fest in Detroit Lakes, Minn. The Aug. 5-7 event at the Soo Pass Ranch will also boast appearances by Trace Adkins, Travis Tritt, Lorrie Morgan, Montgomery Gentry, Suzy Bogguss and George Strait, among others. For more information, visit the We Fest Web site.
"I'm excited to get back on the road with the band and share some of the new album music I've been working on for the fans," McGraw says. A new as-yet-untitled album is due Aug. 31.
The artist's last album, "Tim McGraw and the Dancehall Doctors," debuted at No. 2 on The Billboard 200 and Billboard's Top Country Album chart. Released in late 2002, the Curb set has sold 2.6 million copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
Last year, McGraw grossed $33 million from 53 shows, 14th among all acts.
