Rocker Marilyn Manson is heading to Berlin's European Film Market, which runs from Feb. 9-19, to drum up financial support for his directorial debut, "Phantasmagoria: The Visions of Lewis Carroll."
Manson has written the script to the film, based on the life of the English author of "Alice in Wonderland," and will star as Carroll.
Alain de la Mata of French sales company Wild Bunch is producing and hopes to secure financing for the $4.2 million production at the EFM. The film is set to begin production in the summer. "It's a kind of art house horror; what people expect from Manson, they're going to get here," de la Mata said.
Manson will visit Berlin to preview some of the music he has composed for the film as well as a trailer featuring the production's early art and costume design.
