Madonna is opening up on love, money and kissing Nicki Minaj in a new interview.

With a new album, "M.D.N.A.," due this spring, her directorial debut with the film "W.E." on Feb. 3 and, of course, a Super Bowl halftime performance ahead of her, Madonna sat down with ABC News' Cynthia McFadden.

On reports of her new record deal with Interscope: "Nobody's handed me $40 million, I don't know about that. Looks good on paper," she said, laughing.

But she was in a more serious mood when asked about the age gap with her new boyfriend, 24-year-old dancer Brahim Zaibat.

"Is there lots of talk, are people tired of that subject? Boring old chestnut," Madonna said before asking, "O.K., what do you want to know?

"I didn't write down on a piece of paper, i'm now going to have a relationship with a younger man," she continued. "You see, that's the romantic in me. I just met someone that I cared for. This happens to be his age… I don't want to live life on my own. I love being a mother… but I need a partner in life."

Behind closed doors, Madonna said, "I'm the easy one… I go home and I wash my face and I put on my sweat pants, and I lay down on the bed and i say, 'Oh, please rub my feet,' and he says, 'No, you rub my feet!'

He's not the only one she's been kissing, as Nicki Minaj, her "Gimme All Your Luvin'" collaborator, revealed on Twitter recently.

"I did, but it was her birthday! I just gave her a birthday kiss. No tongue, who said tongue?" Madonna said. "She has lovely lips."

It was her concern with matters of the heart that drove the self-described romantic to tell the story of "W.E.," which follows the romance of Wallis Simpson and Edward VIII, who abdicated the British throne to marry the two-time divorcee.

"I think she was deeply misunderstood by people and I can relate to that," Madonna said. "I wanted to know why he gave up so much for her and what it must feel like to be loved so much."

And the interview wouldn't be complete without a question about Lady Gaga, who's been mentioned in the same breath as the Material Girl since making her pop world debut.

"It feels reductive," Madonna said of the comparisons.

"Is that good?" McFadden queried.

"Look it up," Madonna said slyly, picking up her cup for a sip.
