Madonna's 12th studio album will be released in the spring of 2012, with its first single due out in February or March.
The NFL has reportedly locked down Madonna to perform at the Super Bowl XLVI Halftime Show in February, according to SB Nation. Sources close to the event tell the sports blog that the Material Girl will be front and center Feb. 5 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.
With Madonna busy completing work on her upcoming new studio album, the number of rumors surrounding the star -- and her upcoming promotional schedule -- have been escalating.
A man who managed to break into two of Madonna's homes has been ordered to be detained indefinitely in a psychiatric hospital. A judge also banned Grzegorz Matlok, a Polish national who was previously deported, from coming within 300 feet of any of the pop star's properties.
Matlok was charged with burglary in March after breaking into Madonna's London mansion while she was away. To get into the fortified home, Matlok used a rope and scaffolding to shimmy through a first floor window. He went through the singer's drawers and grabbed a can of Red Bull before being discovered by house guest Nathan Rissman, a film director. In his bag were maps, a box cutter, a passport and a plane ticket back to Poland.

Previously, the 30-year-old had successfully broken into the singer's rural home in southern England that she used to share with ex-husband Guy Ritchie. In that instance, Matlok tried on Ritchie's clothes. He was arrested and deported back to Poland.
He defended himself by saying Madonna had given him permission to use her homes.
In her statement to the court, Madonna made it clear she doesn't know Matlok, never gave him permission to visit, and expressed worry that one person was able to break into two of her homes.
"It is extremely unsettling to know that, despite the extensive security I have, he has been able to break into two of my residential properties," she said. "I'm worried about my children's safety as well as the safety of my staff."
Judge Deborah Taylor sentenced Matlok Monday at London's Southwark Crown Court.
