'Celebration': Madonna's 40 Most Impressive Instants

Madonna adds to her storied Billboard chart career, as she notches her milestone 40th No. 1 on Dance/Club Play Songs with 'Celebration.'

Madonna's "Celebration" (Warner Bros.) moves into a third week at No. 1 on Top 100 Albums, as "Sexy Chick" (Gum/Positiva/Virgin/EMI) by David Guetta featuring Akon secures a sixth week at No. 1 on European Hot 100 Singles.

The Madonna compilation moves back 2-1, where it entered two weeks ago, in Ireland, and remains in runner-up spot in the United Kingdom and Finland. But it's down 1-8 in Germany, where the new entry at No. 1 is "Humanoid" (Universal Island) by rock staple Tokio Hotel. The band's third studio album is new at No. 2 on the composite chart, thanks also to debuting at No. 2 in Portugal, Italy and Spain, No. 6 in Holland, No. 8 in Austria, No. 10 in Switzerland and climbing 9-8 in the Belgian region of Wallony.

Muse falls 2-3 overall with "The Resistance" (Helium 3/Warner Music), losing its final No. 1 European berth in Switzerland but holding at No. 4 in Ireland. Barbra Streisand's "Love Is The Answer" (Columbia/Sony Music Entertainment) is up 7-4 on Top 100 Albums, making the same climb in the United Kingdom on sales of 27,000. It's down 4-9 in Holland.

A veteran rock name returns to the pan-European album top ten in the shape of "Sonic Boom" (Roadrunner), the first studio release in 11 years by Kiss. It's in at No. 5 after starting at No. 2 in Norway, No. 4 in Germany, No. 6 in Austria, No. 7 in Finland and No. 24 in the United Kingdom. The band's last studio album, "Psycho Circus," debuted at No. 13 on European Top 100 Albums in October 1998, in a three-week chart run.

Mika slips 4-6 on the aggregate listing with "The Boy Who Knew Too Much"  (Casablanca/Universal Island), despite improving 6-5 in Wallony, 9-8 in Holland and 15-10 in Spain. Paramore's "Brand New Eyes" (Fueled By Ramen/Warner Music), a new entry at No. 3 overall last week, falls to No. 7, losing its No. 1 berths in the United Kingdom and Ireland.

The remaining titles in the Europe-wide album top ten are also in decline: Mark Knopfler falls 5-8 with "Get Lucky" (Vertigo/Universal), David Guetta's "One Love" 8-9 and Pearl Jam's "Backspacer" (Monkey Wrench/Universal Island) 6-10. Knopfler is still No. 3 in Norway, Guetta up 6-4 in Switzerland and 11-10 in Ireland, and Pearl Jam's highest ranking of the week is No. 7 in Italy.

Guetta's single extends its European Hot 100 run with a number of chart climbs. It's down 1-2 in Germany but holds at No. 1 in Austria and climbs 3-2 in Sweden, 6-4 in Finland and 10-9 in Holland. The track also holds at No. 2 in Switzerland and Wallony, No. 3 in France and Ireland and No. 4 in Norway.

The European Hot 100's highest new entry, at No. 6, is "Oopsy Daisy" by London-born rapper Chipmunk, which debuts at No. 1 in the United Kingdom on sales of 82,000.
