Ludacris Joins All-Star 'Crash' Flick

Rapper-turned-actor Ludacris has joined the cast of the Bull's Eye Entertainment Film "Crash." Sources confirm that the cast will also include Sandra Bullock, Brendan Fraser, Matt Dillon, Ryan Phillippe, Thandie Newton, Larenz Tate and Nona Gaye. Don Cheadle is already on board to star in the Paul Haggis-directed film, which is due to begin production Monday (Dec. 8) in Los Angeles.

Written by Haggis and Bobby Moresco, "Crash" is described as being in the style of "Pulp Fiction" and "Traffic." It follows multiple characters through the streets of L.A. as they careen in and out of one another's lives. Others are expected to join the growing cast.

Ludacris was seen earlier this year in "2 Fast 2 Furious" and also appeared in 2001's "The Wash."

Released in October, his latest album, "Chicken 'N' Beer" (Disturbing Tha Peace/Def Jam South) debuted at No. 1 on The Billboard 200. Single "Stand Up!" featuring Shawnna falls to No. 2 on the Hot 100 this week after one week at the top.

As previously reported, Ludacris will be among the artists appearing on MTV's New Year's Eve broadcast from New York's Times Square.
