Lonestar Singer To Exit; Band Splits With BNA

Lonestar lead singer Richie McDonald will leave the band at the end of 2007 to pursue a solo career. Additionally, Lonestar has parted ways with BNA Records, its label home since 1995.

The band's remaining members -- Dean Sams, Michael Britt and Keech Rainwater -- are in the process of securing a new lead singer and record deal.

The group has scored 18 top 10 singles on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart, including nine No. 1s. Its biggest success came via the single "Amazed, which spent eight weeks atop that chart in 1999 and also peaked at No. 2 on the Adult Contemporary tally.

Lonestar is currently touring in support of its latest album, "Mountains."
