Find out how "DoYaThing," a new track from Gorillaz, LCD Soundsystem's James Murphy and Andre 3000, came together for Converse.

"DoYaThing," the one-off collaboration between Gorillaz, LCD Soundsystem's James Murphy and Outkast's Andre 3000 for Converse Inc.'s "3 Artists. 1 Song" campaign, was unveiled as a free download on Converse's official site on Thursday (Feb. 23). Converse has also released its Gorillaz footwear collection designed by the band's co-creator, Jamie Hewlett.

Like Gorillaz's most accessible singles, "DoYaThing" mixes electronica, pop and funk music, with Damon Albarn deadpanning lines like, "I'm the light in the mall when the power is gone/A shadow in a corner, just playing along!" Murphy, returning to the mic for the first time since LCD disbanded last April, provides a vibrant hook, while Andre dominates the second half of the song with a rapid-fire rap.

"We didn't exchange any ideas at all [beforehand]," Murphy recalled to Billboard earlier this month. "Damon was basically saying, 'Let's just get in a room,' which, even if it wasn't Damon Albarn, is a pretty convincing argument, really. To be honest, I was worried that I should prepare something, but went with it anyway."

A music video for the song will be released by the end of February, while an extended version of the track will pop up on the Gorillaz website in the next few weeks.
